As a student, I do not often read at speed for the reason that I need to pay attention to every word in the book to understand or even memorise what I read. The only occasion, personally, when I read pretty fast is when I am in the book store and decide whether I need to buy this book or not. I of course would like to spend a couple of minutes reading two or three pages to check out whether the book is fit for me or not.
