[03:00.60]LINDA:Hello, Linda speaking.
[03:03.11]MATT:Oh hi. Linda. This is Matt Brooks.
[03:07.09]Alex White gave me your number.
[03:09.34]He said you'd be able to give me some advice about moving to Banford.
[03:13.71]LINDA:Yes, Alex did mention you.
[03:17.01]How can I help?
[03:18.66]MATT:Well, first of all - which area to live in?
[03:23.06]LINDA:Well. I live in Dalton, which is a really nice suburb – not too expensive and there's a nice park.
[03:34.28]MATT:Sounds good.
[03:35.91]Do you know how much it would be to rent a two-bedroom flat there?
[03:40.26]LINDA:Yeah, you should be able to get something reasonable for 850 pounds per month.
[03:48.44]That's what people typically pay.
[03:51.51]You certainly wouldn't want to pay more than 900 pounds. That doesn't include bills or anything.
[04:00.55]MATT:No.That sounds alright.
[04:02.55]I'll definitely have a look there.
[04:05.01]Are the transport links easy from where you live?
[04:09.07]LINDA:Well, I'm very lucky.
[04:11.48]I work in the city centre so I don't have to use public transport.
[04:17.70]I go by bike.
[04:20.11]MATT:Oh, I wish I could do that.
[04:22.57]Is it safe to cycle around the city?
[04:25.15]LINDA:Yes, it's fine.
[04:27.43]And it keeps me fit.
[04:30.02]Anyway, driving to work in the city centre would be a nightmare because there's hardly any parking.
[04:40.23]And the traffic during the rush hour can be bad.
[04:44.95]MATT:I'd be working from home but I'd have to go to London one or two days a week.
[04:50.80]LINDA:Oh, that's perfect.
[04:53.45]Getting to London is no problem.
[04:57.10]There's a fast train every 30 minutes which only takes 45 minutes.
[05:04.46]MATT:That's good.
[05:05.69]LINDA:Yeah, the train service isn't bad during the week.
[05:11.00]And they run quite late at night.
[05:14.08]It's weekends that are a problem.
[05:18.24]They're always doing engineering work and you have to take a bus to Hadham and pick up the train there, which is really slow.
[05:29.74]But other than that, Banford's a great place to live.
[05:35.82]I've never been happier.
[06:19.04]LINDA:There are some nice restaurants in the city centre and a brand new cinema which has only been open a couple of months.
[06:29.24]There's a good arts centre too.
[06:32.28]MATT:Sounds like Banford's got it all.
[06:34.52]LINDA:Yes! We're really lucky.
[06:37.12]There are lots of really good aspects to living here.
[06:41.68]The schools are good and the hospital here is one of the best in the country.
[06:48.86]Everyone I know who's been there's had a positive experience.
[06:54.81]Oh, I can give you the name of my dentist too in Bridge Street, if you're interested.
[07:03.71]I've been going to him for years and I've never had any problems.
[07:10.12]MATT:Oh. OK. Thanks!
[07:12.35]LINDA:I'll find his number and send it to you.
[07:16.26]MATT:Thanks, that would be really helpful.
[07:19.50]LINDA:Are you planning to visit Banford soon?
[07:23.02]MATT:Yes. My wife and I are both coming next week.
[07:27.23]We want to make some appointments with estate agents.
[07:30.95]LINDA:I could meet you if you like and show you around.
[07:34.99]MATT:Are you sure?
[07:36.47]We’d really appreciate that.
[07:39.03]LINDA:Either a Tuesday or Thursday is good for me, after 5.30.
[07:46.02]MATT:Thursday's preferable - Tuesday I need to get home before 6 pm.
[07:52.37]LINDA:OK.Great.Let me know which train you're catching and I’II meet you in the café outside.
[08:03.42]You can't miss it.
[08:05.31]It's opposite the station and next to the museum.
[08:10.14]MATT:Brilliant.
[08:11.58]I'll text you next week then.
[08:14.71]Thanks so much for all the advice.
[08:17.75]LINDA:No problem. I'll see you next week.
