[02:21.93]JUDY:Good morning.
[02:22.62]Total Insurance.
[02:23.60]Judy speaking, how may I help you?
[02:25.18]MICHAEL:I recently shipped my belongings from overseas back here to Australia and I took out insurance with your company.
[02:32.39]Some items were damaged during the move so I need to make a claim.
[02:36.65]What do I have to do?
[02:37.85]JUDY:Okay, well first I need to get a few details about this.
[02:41.72]Can you give me your name please?
[02:43.77]MICHAEL:Yes.
[02:44.61]It's Michael Alexander.
[02:46.49]JUDY:Okay.
[02:47.99]And your address please?
[02:49.74]MICHAEL:My old address or my current one?
[02:52.14]JUDY:Your current one.
[02:53.59]MICHAEL:It's 24 Manly Street, Milperra near Sydney.
[02:58.14]JUDY:What was the suburb, sorry?
[03:00.29]MICHAEL:Milperra.
[03:01.77] M-l-L-P-E-R-R-A.
[03:06.70]JUDY:Right.
[03:06.83]Now, who was the shipping agent Mr Alexander?
[03:10.30]MICHAEL:You mean the company we used?
[03:12.94]JUDY:Yes, the company who packed everything up at the point of origin.
[03:16.43]MICHAEL:Oh, it was …er... First Class Movers.
[03:21.18]JUDY:Okay ... where were the goods shipped from?
[03:25.56]MICHAEL:China, but the ship came via Singapore and was there for about a week.
[03:31.28]JUDY:Don't worry, all of that information will be in the documentation.
[03:35.00]Now, the dates.
[03:36.89]Do you know when the ship arrived?
[03:38.84]MICHAEL:It left on the 11th of October and got to Sydney on the 28th of November.
[03:44.80]JUDY:Okay.
[03:45.10]I need one more thing.
[03:46.96]There's a reference number.
[03:48.83]It should be in the top right-hand corner of the pink form they gave you.
[03:53.16]MICHAEL:Let me have a look.
[03:55.40]I have so many papers.
[03:58.34]Yes, here it is.
[03:59.98]It's 601 ACK.
[04:03.51]JUDY:Thanks.
[04:51.22]JUDY:I need to take down a few details of the actual damage over the phone before you put in a full report.
[04:56.54]Can you tell me how many items were damaged and what the damage was?
[05:00.46]MICHAEL:Yes, well four things actually.
[05:03.70]I'll start with the big things.
[05:04.58]My TV first of all.
[05:06.57]It's a large one ... very expensive.
[05:09.17]JUDY:Our insurance doesn't cover electrical problems.
[05:12.14]MICHAEL:It isn't an electrical problem.
[05:13.99] The screen has a huge crack in it so it’s unusable.
[05:16.82]JUDY:I see.
[05:18.63]Any idea of the price to repair it?
[05:21.19]MICHAEL:No.
[05:21.95]Well, I don't think it can be repaired.
[05:23.85]It will need a new one.
[05:25.37]JUDY:Okay.
[05:26.35]I'll make a note of that and we'll see what we can do.
[05:29.11]Now, what was the second item?
[05:31.58]MICHAEL:The cabinet from the bathroom was damaged as well.
[05:35.34]It’s a lovely cabinet, we use it to keep our towels in.
[05:38.54]JUDY:And what is the extent of the damage?
[05:40.73]MICHAEL:Well, the back and the sides seem okay but the door has a huge hole in it.
[05:45.78]It can't be repaired.
[05:47.25]I'm really not very happy about it.
[05:49.30]JUDY:And how much do you think it will cost to replace it?
[05:51.88]MICHAEL:Well, when I bought it last year I paid $125 for it.
[05:57.20]But the one I've seen here in Sydney is a bit more expensive, it's $140.
[06:03.21]JUDY:Right, and what was the third item?
[06:05.77]MICHAEL:My dining room table.
[06:07.69]It's a lovely table from Indonesia.
[06:10.16]It must have been very hot inside the container because one leg has completely split down the middle.
[06:16.49]The top and the other three look okay thank goodness.
[06:20.47]JUDY:Any idea of the price to repair it?
[06:23.00]MICHAEL:Well, I had an estimate done on this actually because it is a very special table to us.
[06:27.98]They quoted us $200, which is really pricey so I hope the insurance will cover the total cost.
[06:35.49]JUDY:I'm sure that will be fine.
[06:36.91]What was the last item, Mr Alexander?
[06:39.66]MICHAEL:Well, we have a lovely set of china plates and dishes, you know, with matching cups, saucers, the lot.
[06:46.49]They were all in the one box which must have got dropped because some plates were broken - six actually.
[06:53.42]JUDY:And can you tell me the replacement value of these?
[06:56.37]MICHAEL:Well, it's hard to say because they were part of a set but they can be up to $10 each as it's such a good set.
[07:03.20]JUDY:Okay, so that would be around $60 altogether?
[07:06.31]MICHAEL:Yes, that's right.
[07:07.52]JUDY:And is that all of the items?
[07:09.59]MICHAEL:Yes.
[07:10.69]So what do I have to do now?
