[00:00.00]Listen to a conversation between a student and an employee at the university conference center.
[00:07.18]Student: Hi, um, my parents are coming next weekend to see me perform in the Jazz concert. [00:12.20]They wanted to find out about hotels in the area and well, my roommate said you can put them up here on campus?
[00:18.66]Employee: Well, our conference center includes a full-service hotel, but when the university is hosting a conference or workshop, we do give priority to registered participants. [00:30.06]Now, if there's nothing going on or there are still rooms available, then anyone can reserve them. [00:36.90]Let's see. Um, when did you say they're coming?
[00:41.15]Student: Next weekend?
[00:42.27]Employee: Um, when exactly?
[00:44.79]Student: Well, uh. the concerts on Saturday, and I think they wanted to stay for two nights, Friday, and Saturday.
[00:51.16]Employee: Well, actually, there's a training workshop next week, but it ends on Saturday. [00:56.80]We're booked through Saturday morning, but I could give you a room for Saturday night.
[01:04.94]I mean, they l probably wanna change and stuff before the concert that afternoon.
[01:08.77]Employee: Well, check in time is one pm.
[01:10.73]Student: oh, oh, that should give them plenty of time. [01:12.80]So I guess one night will be, okay. [01:15.04]And how much of the rooms?
[01:16.44]Employee: $90 a night for double occupancy. [01:19.21]I'll need payment in advance to confirm the reservation.
[01:22.33]Student: Can I use my credit card?
[01:23.59]Employee: That's fine. If you'll just sign this form here while I take your card. [01:27.55]Oh, and let me give you a parking pass. [01:29.71]Are they driving?
[01:30.56]Student: Oh, right. guess they'll need that while they're here.
[01:33.04]Employee: Yes, it's good for anywhere on campus, not just the conference center.
[01:36.81]Student: Great. Um, just one more thing. [01:39.60]I don't know if you know anything about this, but well, you've already been so helpful and all, but I was wondering seat on Sunday. [01:49.10]Before they go back, they wanted to take a little day trip with me to see sugar land falls. [01:53.77]They say they've heard so much about it, but I've never been there before. Would you happen to..
[01:59.47]Employee: We get asked that all the time, here's a brochure for visitors to the area. [02:04.34]There's plenty in there on sugar land falls. [02:06.88]It's probably the most popular tourist attraction around. [02:10.27]It's quite beautiful. [02:11.58]I think they even have a tour Guide there, and then there's natals falls too. [02:16.42]Have you ever been there?
[02:17.56]Student: Nope, haven't even heard of that one.
[02:19.30]Employee: Well, natals falls isn't as big. [02:21.60]But it's so close to sugar land that you could visit both on Sunday. [02:25.41]In fact, there's even a shuttle bus between the two. [02:28.39]Or if you prefer, it's about 10 minute ride by car. [02:31.99]The brochure has a map and it's got lots of other tourist Information, local restaurants and so on.
[02:37.80]Student: Great, thanks. This will really help.
[02:40.70]Employee: And Nettles falls. [02:42.50]Well, this is really why I suggest it. [02:45.28]You can go swimming there underneath the waterfall as a tourist site. [02:50.52]It's not much compared to the bigger falls, but it's just the perfect size for swimming and Sunday supposed to be quite hot. So..
[02:58.14]Student: That sounds great. [02:59.44]I'd better tell my parents to bring their bathing suits.
